Hello everyone. Picked up a 4 year old Familia 320 just over a week ago. Only been home for 2 days since. Wow. We love it. So neat, only outside stuff is one small fold up bucket. Being fans of allo allo she naturally had to be called Helga Von Smallhausen.

First of all, welcome!  We agree with your point, and don't even have a waste bucket outside.  That's because we use serviced sites 99% of the time, and don't normally bother to use the sink.  It makes for an easy life, especially if you don't plan to stay in one place for long.  But not everyone sees it that way - quite a few owners convert the water supply to allow use of an aquaroll.

Awnings are another thing that we just don't get, but that too puts us in a tiny minority!  I suppose the point is that there are as many ways to use an Eriba as there are owners.  Well, almost.

On the Smallhausen thing, Eriba owners are seen as a bit odd in the UK, where it seems that bigger is better and living a simple life is not what most caravanners are looking for.

As for small bucket(s) for grey water then on the continent (Euro) I don't think I've ever seen a caravan on a pitch using them.  Seems to be standard practice to just let the grey water soak away naturally.

So when in the UK we use / carry two grey water tanks but when abroad in the EU we don't bother.

We use a small bucket for the grey water, just big enough to slip under the rear waste pipe. It doubles up for fetching fresh water now and again to wash off the millions of dead bugs plastered to the front of the van and towcar and also to clean the windows/lights of the towcar as and when required. Cost €1 from the €1 shop and a handy receptacle to have available.
