Hello all, after many years of travelling around in my wife's parents various motorhomes we decided to splash out and buy our own caravan. Not wanting the usual white box we decided that an Eriba was for us. We had planned to buy a second-hand Familia or Triton and looked at a few but found the headroom and door access height of the older models a bit restrictive. Then we saw a new (2012) Familia and the door access and interior height seemed better suited to us; from then on my wife (Stevie) was hooked and wanting the on-board toilet facilities bought the 2012 Familia 320 model. We collected it from Automotive Leisure in Poole last July and have had quite a few weeks away in it already including a fantastic week in Woolacombe during the best week of last years summer (if you can call it that). We have also travelled to the Cotswolds, Graffam Water, Wincanton and also had a short break near Exeter where we like to ride our bikes. So far this year, we spent Easter near Mevagissey in Cornwall and Stevie's mum and dad came along too with their motorhome. Our next trip is to Sidmouth at the end of May and then we have a week planned to visit Chirk and North Wales in July and a trip to Brittany in September to meet up with our daughters and families.
We tow the van with a VW Golf 2.0 Bluemotion which returns about 40mpg when towing which makes touring much more affordable than with the motorhomes. Looking forward to getting away again soon.
Sounds like you are making the most of your Eriba!
I live in West Devon and we are lucky to be able to get to so many good campsites/areas in the South West so easily.
Maybe we will see you out and about sometime soon.
Welcome jeffre, you have good taste, I've also got a 2012 Familia 320 ;-)
