Let me introduce ourselves: we're a couple from the south west of the Netherlands. We are some 45 mins from Zeebrugge, which is a good position (ferry) for the many holidays we have spent in GB in the last 25 years. Started with a tent of course, later various trailer tents. The last one was a Dandy. Although we had many great holidays in our trailer tent (including various rallies of the Dandy Owners Club), we had been thinking of buying a caravan, specifically an Eriba, as we liked the design & it was the only one I was prepared to tow.
We bought our Triton from 2003 privately in the Netherlands, when it was 7 years old. We have attended some four rallies of the Eriba Owners Club of GB since, as we were welcome to join the following year.
Right now, the Eriba is having a rest in our car port, but from next week it will be on the road again as we're going caravanning in Lincolnshire. So if you happen to see us on of the British roads.......we'll be waving back!
Biker.

Thank you, Rod. We're interested to go to one of these forum meets some time, but it'll have to coincide with holidays planned (and we always plan way ahead with a view to the ferries0. End of August we're already going to Oxfordshire & Yorkshire. Interested also in forumstickers. How do I order?
Regards,
Ronald.

Thank you Fred. We have actually booked with a group of friends on a site quite close to the one you mention. Might want to look in anyway.
Regards. Ronald.

Hi Ron and Ella. Glad you've got round to introducing yourselves to the others on the Forum. You have of course, met many of us when you've attended the Eriba Owners Club Meets and, hopefully we'll meet you again soon somewhere.
Have a good time in Lincolnshire.
Roger and Amanda

Hi Roger and Amanda,
With you living a life of luxury in southern France I was going to boast about the tempertures up here. They promised 30 degrees C., but it's not going to happen. Sun's hiding.
It'll be some time before we see you again, I suppose, as we're not doing another Eriba-rally this year. See you in '14?
Regards,
Ronald and Ella.

Hi Both, welcome to the club! You live near a lovely place (being one of the few foreign destinations I know, Bruges) and perhaps one day we will see you chugging your way around Wales.
Parent - - By Biker Date 19-06-2013 12:47
Dear Fords, thank you. Bruges is indeed a lovely place & many people frome the uk know it. We have been chugging around Wales a few times, including Hay-on-Wye, naturally, and the beautiful Penderyn distillery. Have been unlucky with the weather up north (Bedgelert and Waunfawr) but in beautiful sunshine on Anglesey. Don't know when we're going there again. So many place to visit. For Britain's not only Great, it's also big, is'nt it?
Regards,
Ronald.

>it's also big, is'nt it

It would be if you flattened all the mountains out! There is still a lot of the country I have yet to see.

Has anyone noticed that they are using Bruges and surrounding area for filming of the White Queen television series being shown on BBC?
It was when then went into the courtyard and grand hall that I picked up on the location.

You're right David: it was an item on Belgian (=Flemish) television one or two weeks ago. Bruges is the perfect location, I would say.

I saw in the Mail on the weekend that they were using this area as it had less tv and satellite dishes that similar locations in UK but then they pointed out all the faux pas picked up in the filming (costumes etc) seemingly they were using zips and corduroy in the medieval costumes and there was UPVC windows and large modern toilet down pipes also in the shots. I have not watched the programme so can't comment but the photos showing the mistakes are rather glaring.

Same here. When I was still working for the newspaper I actually wrote an article about the concept (which I had found elsewehere) that Wales would be four times as big, if you flattened it out!

Hello Barbara,
your little furry friend is well and has - by the looks of her - been eating a little too well in the kennels, while we were in sunny, hot Lincolnshire. When we were there, the refrigerator broke down, i.e. it didn't work on the mains anymore. We got it to work on gas though, so we could bring our favourite english cheeses safely home. The ferry back was quite full with english people going to France, including no less than three busloads of schoolchildren from Yorkshire. Although I'd favour them to any french, I was glad that our cabin was at the quiet end of the ship......
Have to go now, garden duties.

Hi Biker

The answer is plenty of exercise and of course that includes yourself and Ella.
but really it is all down to a contented life!!

I note that Roger could not put his Eriba away until he had cut the lawn so enjoy
your garden duties.

I hope you enjoyed Lincolnshire we are hoping to go to the same area in September.

Hope to see you soon.

Regards

Barbara
