We're Little Nellie - we've now had an Eriba now for ten years (OK we've never actually introduced ourselves on the Forum, we're shy

Us in a nutshell - we started with a Puck for four years then moved up to a 430GT, tragically that was a French one when there were all those design / build quality issues but we stuck with Big Nellie (as she was called by then) until August this year - we did the mistake of going to a show in February and made a purchase on the spot appreciating the better build and other tweaks though this time we got a 430.  So now we have Big Nellie2 !!!  We're happy with her but are in the process of changing the awning to a Walker one as we weren't happy with the other, yet more expense !!!  On our first outing having picked up Nellie we went to a tiny NT site and there we were with two little Pucks !!!!  Are we the only people who yell - Eriba, Eriba - when we spot one driving / travelling - we get brownie points but things have to be 'verified' as a positive siting !!!!  Yep - we've crazy but then who isn't ??  We now finally have a 4/4 - a Dacia Duster and due to it's number plate ending in UHU - it's known as - Sticky - Oh and we have TT who now always travels with us - Travel Ted - a teddy who we were lucky enough to pick the right key for to help him to escape from a cage at the South Suffolk Show (well worth a visit !!!) this year - Michael, who comes on holiday to our house when we go away, even knitted him a little jacket to wear in place of his little hoodie.

Gosh - sorry about this ramble but sometimes we get carried away with things !!!  That's us, two of us - T & R - as mad as hell !!!!

Welcome! I find that I now notice Eribas subconsciously: driving on a motor way or dual carriage way, I find myself identifying and shouting out Eribas while not noticing at all other vehicles. Worrying. ;-)

Hi there...you are far from being alone.....we also wave and shout 'Eriba' on roads of all types....we always go say 'hi' to fellow Eribaist on campsites where ever we are and indeed often have fellow Eribaists come say 'hi' to us too....our Triton 430 is called RB (short for Running Bare/Bear) ....we like naturist sites especially in France and Spain where it's nice and warm.  We name 'things' too...great fun....our tow vehicle is called Carter...he is a Toyota Hiace window van who serves us very well....though we hope to change him in 2016 for a 4x4 Skoda Octavia Scout estate car...which will have a name.   Enjoy   the  forum....hopefully we'll run across each other some time.... though we spend most of our time in France and Spain we do some spring and winter camping here in the UK.

Hi Pollywolly (love the name !!)

Beginning to feel quite normal with all these strange things Eriba bods seem to do on their travels, just like us !!! - we often chat to others on site when we spot them or even like the really old one we pulled in behind at an Aire as we drove down France last year, and it was British too !!!  The most we've ever been on site at the same time was when we stopped at Oban - the site was massive (never used such a crowded one since) and there were six of us plus two Airstreams - but then there was masses of other units as well - 300+ !!.  We usually stay on very small sites and go 'off grid' using solar panels for top up power and gas on the fridge.  Interestingly the last cylinder which we've just replaced has lasted us the longest time, we don't know if that's because we're now using Big Nellie2 with her new / latest fridge or that other cylinders were never so full - we had had ones which got recalled as being Calorlite !!!!  In France in September for most of our stay, quite literally on the top of Col des Ares, we were the only ones on site most nights.  We've had that at a number of other sites as well - which is great by us !!!!  We're looking forward to going out again - pretty well all planned for 2016 - Yorkshire again in March (we had to cancel / postpone our planned visit in November so we never got to see Jasper Carrot !!!), in June we're booked into a tiny site in north west Scotland (the owner has agreed to have us as we're so small !!!!) and then in September we head south to France - will need the warmth by then !!!  We might nip out for the odd weekend but it depends on getting cover for our three black cats and chickens - they're very choosy about who looks after them - they've got our chum Michael really well trained !!!  Right - better crack on with things - ops - seem to have 'rambled on' again !!! Hullo....glad you've introduced yourselves! I think I might have been one of the two little Pucks in the NT site....I noticed you jumping up and down with excitement as we drove in tandem through the gate into the camping field     and you kindly gave me a fire alarm that was surplus to your needs....thank you for that (I keep it in the kitchen at home during the winter...it went off on Christmas Day).  What a great little campsite that was....definitely going back there next year.
Enjoy Big Nellie 2 in 2016 and happy New Year!

Hi Sarah - lovely to hear from you (& Tulip) - hope your moon-light photos came out better than mine, Tim said I should have used the tripod but I didn't want to wake him !!!!  Hope you're all keeping as well as expected and possibly even the future looking brighter - all the best for 2016 - may the Force be with you.

Have fun - R

Hi T&R, glad you finally got round to saying hello! Whenever we go on a long drive we always try to be the first to spot an Eriba, and I've been know to wave and flash eribas when I am driving alone (that can be very disconcerting for those driving towards me but I just can't help myself!) I take warped delight in having a "Troll" towed by a "Yeti", two mythical but loveable creatures and they are named Dolly and Eddie respctively. We also have a little mascot that came with our Puck and now resides in our third Eriba, a cuddly Scottie Dog (unlike the real dogs of the former owner of the puck and the toy scotty!). See, you are not the only ones to ramble on, i think it is a side effect of owning an Eriba.

Hi Trolltrio - can't get over how 'mad' all Eriba bods seem to be, feeling really quite normal here !!!  Am wondering whether to start another thread which would really just be photos of our little travel buddies - when we were at the Col in September lots of British classic cars were obviously doing as many Cols are they could.  One morning a little old Austin came up, stopped at the top, guy jumped out to take photo of car plus Col sign to prove they'd done it then he hopped back into the car, suddenly there was a yell, the guy jumped out again and quickly grabbed his toy bunny from the bonnet - it appears 'bunny' gets included in all the photos - talk about the 'mad British' !!!!  Puts a smile on ones face, even just writing it !!!

Have fun - Little Nellie & Sticky

Hi, we would just like to say hello and a happy new year to one and all. we are Mr P and Lady D and we have the very great pleasure in having Priscilla (530GTi) in our lives. I have to admit that Lady D has been on at me for over 10 years to get mobile but I was mentally scarred after spending my Sumer holidays on an RAF base in a small caravan in the early 60's. I am now a total convert, not to caravaning but to the amazing life with an Eriba, we too are always looking out for other eriba's on the road so we can wave, a little embarrassed when we forget we have not got Priscilla with us!!

Hi Pauli - Eribas are very snug / compact, often when we arrive on site, or even driving, we see other units and comment on how many of Little Nellie would fit into their space !!!

Once on site in Dorset we found our then Familia was to be pitched up aalongside a huge 5th wheeler, one with the slide out sides and huge automatic satellite dish. I'm sure it could have eaten Ethel if it had got hungry in the night. Looked really comical having these two side by side. Someone on site said they thought they had brought along a shed for the Behemoth, flippin' cheek!:red:

And you are both paying the same site fees. Which reminds me, one year one when queuing up for a channel tunnel crossing we parked next to a Chrysler 300 estate, with a massive twin axle on the back. It was nearly twice as long as our outfit.
On the bright side, I don't have a fuel bill like he would.
