Towing vehicles

Hi we have owned our Triton 430 for nearly three years now and have towed with our Toyota RAV4, recently my wife and I have been thinking of changing our vehicle. It would be interesting and helpful to hear what other owner tow with. We are thinking of going to one car now so I think we will be looking for something smaller than the RAV4 ,

Ian, we previously had a 1200kg Triton 430. We moved from a 2.0L diesel Skoda Yeti to a 1.5L petrol Audi A3. The Audi is the better tow car and returned similar towing figures of typically 34/36 mpg, our best being 40mpg. We now use it to tow an Eriba Feeling at around 1350kg and it performs very well.

We tow ours with a Fiat 500X 1.4 Multiair petrol, 6 speed manual. No problems. Goes like a train. 140BHP and over two thirds the torque of a 1.9l, 16V, 150BHP diesel and at a lower RPM.
